| Washington Elementary is one of five public elementary
schools in Huron, South Dakota, a city of 12,500. It is located in the southwest part
of town next to a Little League baseball complex, which allows for an
expansive playground for neighborhood children. This facility serves
students K-5 and was built in 1954 with an addition in 1964. It has
been North Central accredited since 1981 and the staff is currently working on
renewing that accreditation.
